Vanessa Feltz bravely thrust herself back onto the dating scene following her heartbreaking split last year with her fiancé of 16 years. Long-term partner Ben Ofoedu cheated on the ITV star, leaving her feeling "betrayed and panic stricken."

The 61-year-old, who regularly appears on This Morning, decided to sign herself up for Celebs Go Dating after Ben, 51, had been unfaithful multiple times throughout their relationship.

The pair first met back in 2005 at a Christmas party, with their whirlwind romance seeing them engaged just a year after dating. Vanessa and Ben planned to tie the knot the following year however their troubles never saw them make it down the aisle.

Although her stint on the Channel 4 dating show didn't help her find the love of her life, it certainly gave her a zest for life again. And she has credited the show with restoring her confidence and faith in love.

"I have been, I think it’s on public record, a rotten picker. I haven’t been good at picking, I really haven’t," she told OK! Magazine about her previous choice of men for dates. "But I’ve learned not to be as scared of it as I was at the beginning."

Vanessa's ex left her heartbroken after cheating on her multiple times.

Whilst the TalkTV host did enjoy her reality TV stint, fans shouldn’t expect her on screens any time soon. She said: "I would say though, that dating at any age is difficult, and dating in front of about 12 cameras is really difficult.

"The show also taught me not to do any more reality TV,” the star laughed. "If I was thinking of going into the jungle – definitely not now!"

Hinting at her love life currently, Vanessa explained she has had a few familiar 'famous' faces slide into her messages. She said: "I’ve had a few famous men slide into my DMs. It’s no one I’ve worked with, but there is one I wouldn’t mind seeing.

"He’s messaged me on Instagram and I’ve replied, so we’ll see how it goes."

There were previous whispers of a fling with a close-by neighbour although Vanessa denies the rumours completely. Although she does laugh and admit she wishes "the rumours were true."

Discussing her split which left her devastated at the time, she said: "I’m not going to let this defeat me, but it’s not easy to pick yourself up and carry on."
