Prince George and Princess Charlotte enjoyed a day out at Centre Court yesterday for the men's Wimbledon final with their parents William and Kate, but the youngsters appeared to break one Wimbledon rule in the process. The two young royals watched on as Carlos Alcaraz took on Novak Djokovic in an incredible final.

However, they weren't supposed to be present and many tennis fans at home were quick to pick up on this fact at home, writes The Mirror. Children are allowed to attend the 'showcourts' provided they stay quiet, but they are usually banned from the Royal Box.

The no children rule is a firm one, and has always been in place, but it seems that for the last few years, an exception has been made for the royals. However, five-year-old Prince Louis didn't join his siblings, which Kate said he was not at all pleased about, as the family enjoyed the day out.

Speaking to Ella Ottaway, Children, Young People and Families Coordinator at Wimbledon, their mother Kate said: “It’s Charlotte’s first time, George came last year.

“They’ve been eagerly watching. Charlotte you’ve been getting to grips with the scoring haven’t you.

“Louis was very upset he wasn’t coming today.”

It's not the first time rules have been bent for the Royal Family as last year, George watched the final between Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios. And that day he broke another rule by declaring his support for the Serb.

Speaking to host Pandora Forsyth, royal correspondent Richard Palmer said: "Somebody shouted out to George about who he wanted to win [the match].

"He [George] appears to say he wanted Djokovic to win."

The royals usually hold a neutral stance with various things particularly politics and it appears that their opinions at the tennis matches uphold the same rule. Mr Palmer said that the royals "aren't supposed to really do that".
