The Royal Family's official social media accounts paid an incredible tribute to King Charles marking his 75th birthday on Tuesday, although two key relatives appear to be missing from the touching clips which date back to his birth in 1948.

It was a normal working day for the monarch, as gun salutes marked the landmark day across London. The image montage in tribute to Charles opened with the late Queen cradling her first-born child.

The clips included sweet childhood photos from the 1950s, school pictures from the 1960s and snaps from his time in the military in the 1970s. His wedding to Princess Diana in 1981 wasn't shown - although a young Prince William and Harry are.

One includes Charles alongside Diana cradling Harry as he is brought home from hospital after his birth in 1984. Other snaps from the 1990s show estranged brothers William and Harry as pre-teens, the Mirror reports.

Pictures from the 2000s include one taken on the day he married Queen Camilla in 2005. The final two images include one of him and Camilla on their Coronation day earlier this year and the one taken by photographer Rankin, which is gracing the current edition of the Big Issue.

Kate Middleton and Meghan were notably absent from the montage of clips.

Although the montage includes a bundle of fond memories, it appears both his daughters-in-law the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, didn't feature in the clip.

Charles has a somewhat strained relationship with Harry's wife Meghan, although it may come as more of a surprise that Kate didn't appear in the video.

However, William and Kate's official Prince and Princess of Wales account did send public birthday wishes to the King, with the message: "Wishing His Majesty The King a very happy 75th birthday!".

The Royal couple also shared three lovely pictures, one of William and his father on a skiing holiday back in 2005, another just showing the King and a final shot of the whole Wales clan alongside Charles and Camilla at Trooping the Colour earlier this year.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan are said to have a strained relationship with the monarch following their decision to step down and move to the US three years ago now - for personal and financial freedom.

Harry not only made damaging accusations towards his dad after fleeing the UK but also the wider Royal family and his step-mum Camilla.

Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were asked to “vacate” their UK home just weeks after Harry’s bombshell book Spare was released.
