Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly fuelled a new war with the royals as Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly at "breaking point" over the Sussexes' "hypocrisy".

As the upcoming series of The Crown looms, a source has claimed that the Prince of Wales has accused the show of being "damaging and harmful", and is said to be "concerned" about the storylines it could contain, the Mirror reports.

The sixth and final season of the hit royal drama is set to cover the late Princess Diana's tragic death in 1997 as well as William and Kate's blossoming romance when the couple met at St Andrew's University in Scotland.

However, with William feeling "violated" by the new season, which is set to be released on Netflix next week, he and Kate are allegedly "riled up" over the fact that Harry and Meghan are still working closely with the streaming platform.

Prince William is said to be furious with Harry for continuing to work with Netflix as the streaming platform is set to release the next season of The Crown next week which largely focuses on the final days of Princess Diana's life

An insider told Heat Magazine: "There is so much bad blood between them already, and the new season of The Crown is just adding more fuel to the fire.

"It's stirring up a lot of anger for William and Kate, they're so against the series - they feel violated by it".

The source says that the future King and Queen find it "hypocritical" that Harry and Meghan claimed to want privacy when they left the Royal Family in 2020 to move to California, yet they continue to work with Netflix.

The insider continued: "William and Kate think it's pretty rich that Meghan and Harry go on about how important privacy is and how much they need to protect their image, but now Netflix - the company they've signed their life away to - is completely violating William and Kate's privacy and control of their image."

In September 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a five-year contract with Netflix worth £81m ($100m) which stated that this would allow them to produce documentaries, docuseries, feature films, scripted shows, and children's programmes.

Meghan and Harry released their bombshell six-part Netflix docuseries in December last year which is said to have pushed their relationship with Kate and William to "breaking point" according to the insider.
