Celtic forgotten man Marco Tilio will consider a January loan if he doesn’t get first-team action before January.

The 22-year-old made his first appearance of the season for the Australian under-23s when he came off the bench to help them beat Qatar 2-1 in a friendly at the weekend. Tilio, who has seven full caps for the Socceroos, is hoping his involvement with the Olympicroos will see him kick on his return to Celtic in a bid to break into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team.

If it doesn’t then he would be open to a possible loan deal. The weekend was a moment of rare action for Tilio as he has still to make a first-team appearance for Celtic. The winger arrived at Celtic from Melbourne City in the summer but an early injury left him sidelined and playing catch-up. Tilio was also signed by former manager Ange Postecoglou with Rodgers now having taken over at the helm.

The Australian has found himself behind Luis Palma, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest and Jyunjun Yang in the fight for the wide positions. Rodgers admitted that some of his ring-rusty squad might look to go and get more game time come January.
