Gwangju FC boss Lee Jung-Hyo has claimed that Jung Ho-Yeon has sparked confusion over a potential move to Celtic - with the midfielder being the ONLY one to tell him about a move.

Brendan Rodgers isn't looking to stand still in the winter window and recruitment plans appear to be gathering pace at Parkhead - with the boss admitting he is keen to land a striker when January rolls around. But speculation has lingered that the South Korean midfielder is Jung has been scouted by Celtic after a successful K-League 1 campaign.

He made an instant impact on the top flight after helping his side to promotion last season and the Parkhead scouts are said keeping tabs on his part in Gwangju's title tilt. Despite the prospect of a dream move to Europe for the 23-year-old, his boss has been less than happy with the speculation, with Lee Jung-Hyo already declaring his star man was not ready for the Scottish Premiership.

He also pointed to Kwon Hyeok-Kyu and his struggles in Glasgow's east end as a reason that Jung should not make a switch to Celtic Park. And the unimpressed manager has insisted the only person that has been talking to him about the deal is his own player - with a bid yet to come from the Hoops.

Asked about the speculation and if there was been any update, the boss told Korean outlet Sporki: "He (Jung) told me first.

"I didn't ask him, and I didn't get an offer. It's like a thief stealing my foot, I don't ask, but he talks about it, so I just talk about it."
