ITV bosses are reportedly gunning for football WAG Rebekah Vardy to star in the newly revived return of Celebrity Big Brother next year as they look to bring audiences an exciting line-up of celebs.

It comes as the 'civillian' version of Big Brother launched on the TV network in October to the delight of fans, with the reality show having last aired on Channel 5 in 2018. It had such success in ratings the celeb version was later confirmed.

Rebekah, 41, has been tipped to be 'TV gold' if she agreed to enter the house, with bosses hoping she will open up about the infamous Wagatha scandal and her rival Coleen Rooney following her fellow WAG already telling her side of the story.

Coleen candidly opened up on the pairs fiery libel case which was taken to the high court in her Disney+ documentary, with Rebekah suing her for damages although lost her case over publicising private information from Coleen's social media account.

Producers also believe Rebekah could "stir things up" if she took part in the show next year, being no stranger to reality shows having took part previously on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! in 2017 and 2021's Dancing On Ice.

ITV bosses hope Rebekah would open up on her libel case with Coleen which gripped the nation.

"Bosses know she'll be perfect fodder for the show and that she won't hold back on saying what she thinks," a source told The Sun.

"They also hope she won't be slow coming forward on saying how she feels about Coleen and husband Wayne."

Before adding: "She will be TV gold."

Leaving luxury behind, the celebs will take part in weekly nominations and tough tasks with cameras capturing their every move.

Celebrity Big Brother will be followed each night by Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live - giving viewers an additional hour of exclusive content including the first live interviews following evictees and debates from a watching studio audience.

The Celebrity Big Brother: Live Stream will also return to screens, airing seven nights a week on ITVX and STV Player, giving fans the opportunity to watch live footage into the small hours after Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live.

“We’re therefore thrilled to announce that we’ll be bringing our very own celebrity edition to ITV1 and ITVX next year.

“Casting is under way to find a new batch of famous faces who are sure to provide more iconic and unmissable BB moments.”

Soap star Ryan Thomas won the last series of Celebrity Big Brother and during his time on the show was embroiled in a scandal after actress Roxanne Pallett claimed he had deliberately hurt her with a punch.
