A Rugby World Cup classic erupted in the immediate aftermath of South Africa's enthralling comeback win over England to set up a blockbuster Final with New Zealand.

Own Farrell – who kicked all of his side's 15 points – was embroiled in an angry exchange at the full time whistle as tempers flared as the Springboks won a game they led for only two-and-a-half minutes. The reigning champions looked down and out as they trailed by nine points with only 12 minutes left on the clock.

But dogged South Africa stayed in it and reaped their rewards as RG Snyman's try teed up Handre Pollard to kick from distance to win the big one in Paris. And old rivalries flared up at the final whistle as Farrell was left fizzing as he got up close and personal with his opponents, as his shattered team-mates were left crestfallen on the turf scattered around him.
