BBC Strictly Come Dancing viewers took to social media to say they “felt sick” as the results show kicked off on Sunday night. MEN reports the show was flooded with complaints just seconds into the second instalment of the BBC dance programme of the weekend.

It was Blackpool weekend for the remaining seven couples and, after their turns on the iconic ballroom floor, it was EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and partner Dianne Buswell who faced Angela Rippon, 79, and Kai Widdrington in the dreaded dance off.

Angela and Kai were performing an American Smooth to Tea For Two by Ella Fitzgerald and Bobby and Dianne strutted their stuff in the form of a Jive to Wham!’s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.

Former Corrie star Ellie Leach was joint top of the judges’ leaderboard with Vito Coppola as the show kicked off, with the pair scoring 39 out of 40 for their Charleston to Love Machine by Girls Aloud. Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin earned the same score for their pole-based routine to Ain’t No Other Man by Christina Aguilera.

And at the bottom, was Angela and Kai, who scored 28, followed by Nigel Harman and Katya Jones, who were awarded 31 for their Quickstep to It Don't Mean A Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing by Duke Ellington.

But it was the dance spectacular that opened the episode that got viewers talking at first, as the pros performed a routine to a Harry Styles medley - with the band singing hits including Music For A Sushi Restaurant, Late Night Talking and As It Was.

Strictly singer Dave Arch and his orchestra failed to impress with their versions of the One Direction star’s back catalogue, with some taking to social media to say the songs were 'murdered' and 'butchered'.
