ROYAL SCOTSMAN (4.40) can return Paul Cole to the big time in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket. The son of Gleneagles rates a serious value bet for the Whatcombe Ace and Scottish owner Jim Hay.

The colt made eye-catching late headway to finish fourth on debut over five furlongs at Ascot. The three-year-old clearly relished tackling six when bolting up from Bluelight Bay at Goodwood.

He built on that effort when a slightly unlucky third behind Bradsell in the Coventry at Royal Ascot. The three-year-old gained due compensation when routing Al Karrar in the Richmond at Goodwood. The bay then seemed to resent being held-up when a lacklustre fifth in the Gimcrack Stakes at York. However, he atoned with a cracking second to Chaldean in the Dewhurst over seven furlongs here. The star was staying-on powerfully at the death so he can turn the tables on his old rival up in trip.

The trainer can also bag the closing Howden Confined Handicap with YACOWLEF (5:50). The colt ended last season with a decent fourth to Quantum Impact in a Newbury nursery. He looked even better when chasing home Once More For Luck on his return at this venue. The bay was doing all his best work late so he can defy a welter-burden over seven furlongs.

Charlie Johnson’s CAPITAL THEORY (1.40) can earn us a few quid in the Howden Handicap. The gelding put in a career best on the all-weather when chinning Chichester at Chelmsford. He wasn’t disgraced yet again when fifth behind Max Mayhem in the Roseberry at Kempton. The bay was then unfortunate to encounter the progressive Aaddeey back on Turf at Ripon. The four-year-old is admirably consistent so he can go one better on the likely faster ground.

SPRING FEELING (2.15) can shade the Chaloner Stakes for Irish Maestro Kevin Condon. The filly looked a smart prospect when placed in a couple of strong maidens over a mile. The bay improved for the drop to seven furlongs when slamming Smile Of Love at Tipperary. She kept up the good work when third to Agartha in a Group 3 over the same track and trip. The daughter of Buratino doesn’t lack speed so she can land a warm Listed contest over six.

TANMAWWY (2.50) can scorch home for Charlie Hills in the Howden Heritage Handicap. The sprinter made rapid headway last Spring with decisive wins at Windsor and Doncaster. Not as good on his next few runs, he bounced back when edging Emperor Spirit at Ffos Las. The gelding produced his best shift since when just denied by Bernardo O'Reilly at Newbury. The bay should be primed so he can take advantage of an inviting mark for his shrewd yard.

KING OF CONQUEST (3.25) can take control for Charlie Appleby in the Suffolk Handicap. The gelding stayed upwardly mobile when narrowly beaten by Conglomerate at Meydan. He then failed to handle a switch to Dirt when sixth to Withering back at the Dubai venue. The bay was much more at home when second to the improving Ghaly back on grass here. He then enjoyed a deserved win when brushing aside Court Of Session at Wolverhampton. The four-year-old is open to plenty more progress so he can prevail for his thriving trainer.

TWILIGHT CALLS (4.00) can make it a dark day for the bookies in the Palace House Stakes. Henry Candy’s horse showed a liking for this track when bolting up from Look Out Louis. However, he didn’t enjoy a clear passage when fifth to Khaadem in this race last season. The gelding hit back when narrowly beaten by King's Lynn in the Temple Stakes at Haydock. He improved again when giving Nature Strip most resistance in the King’s Stand at Ascot. There is plenty more to come from this high-octane type who can make a winning return.

CHASSERAL (5.15) can maintain Andrew Balding’s tremendous run in a trappy sprint. The filly showed plenty of promise when third over five furlongs on her first two starts. She learned plenty more when filling the same spot on her first try over six at Windsor. The sprinter put those efforts to good use when thrashing Moralisa at Wolverhampton. The Juddmonte raider remains nicely unexposed so she can strike under Oisin Murphy.
